    Grab a pair of light hand weights (or something equally hefty) for this fiery all levels workout! Using variations on the Pilates mat exercises we know and love, we'll fire up the core and bring the heat to the shoulders, biceps, and triceps.

    Mat work meets functional movement in this class. You'll need something you can stand on AND something you can squeeze - a foam yoga block works great, but listen to the intro for some other options you can grab from your house. Concept of the day is neutral pelvis. It may seem nitpicky, but thinking about the placement of your pelvis helps you lock in the deep abdominals AND protects your back as you move.

    Despite the name, no crunches are actually required in this spicy little core class. We hit every part of the abdominal wall, with a specific focus on the side obliques and the deepest abs - the TVA (transverse abdominus).

    When we start to do the little stuff right, the big stuff gets easier - in life AND Pilates! We explore attention to detail in this Day 2 workout by trying "mini" versions of the exercises and then growing into them as we connect to the body.

    Day 1: 15 Min Back to Basics Core

    Day 1 kicks off with an all levels workout that lays the foundation for your practice. Using a block (or something else squeezable!), we'll tap into the deepest layer of abdominals that support all of our movements - both on and off the mat. We'll also learn about the Pilates breath and explore some of the exercises that will come up again later in the program! As always, modify when needed and do what feels best in YOUR body today.
